How should one clean and maintain dirty luggage?
Different materials have different cleaning and maintenance methods, which are clear and easy to operate:
1. Fabric / Oxford fabric bags and cases
Daily dust: Use a soft brush and a dry towel to sweep and wipe directly.
Light stains: Wet a towel, wring it out, and dip it in a small amount of neutral laundry detergent / soap water. Gently wipe the affected area.
Hard stains: Apply a special fabric cleaner and wipe it with a dot of the cleaner. Do not rub vigorously.
Finishing: Place it in a cool and ventilated place to dry naturally. Do not machine wash, soak in hot water, or expose to direct sunlight. Avoid fabric fading and deformation.
2. PU leather / artificial leather bags and cases
Daily cleaning: Wipe the surface with a slightly damp soft cloth to remove dust and light stains.
Hard stains: Lightly wipe with leather-specific cleaner or dip in a small amount of toothpaste for gentle treatment.
Prohibited: Do not soak in water for a long time. Avoid corrosive liquids such as alcohol, disinfectants, and bleach. Prevent cracking and peeling of the leather surface.
Maintenance: After cleaning, you can apply a leather care agent to maintain the luster of the surface.
3. Genuine leather bags
Dusting: First, use a dry soft cloth to remove dust completely.
Decontamination: Use a professional leather cleaner, wipe gently along the leather texture, and do not rinse directly with water.
Maintenance: After cleaning, apply leather care oil to nourish the leather and prevent cracking.
Note: Keep away from water stains, oil stains, and sharp objects. Dry promptly after getting wet.
4. General reminder
Zippers, hardware accessories: Use a dry cloth to wipe, and apply a small amount of lubricating oil to keep the opening smooth and prevent rust.
Inner lining: Detachable inner linings can be gently washed by hand; for non-detachable ones, wipe with a damp towel locally and let it air dry completely.
Prohibition: Do not expose to direct sunlight, dry, scrub vigorously, or use strong acid or strong alkali cleaners.
